Most TREMCO flooring adhesives are applied with a notched trowel. It is important that the size of the notching is considered during the application of adhesives as this controls the amount of product installed. Using too much adhesive can cause swelling and buckling where the adhesive is applied. Always refer to our product data sheets for full guidance.
Open time refers to the amount of time recommended for the adhesive to set before the floor covering is laid. The open time of a product can be affected by temperature, humidity and porosity of the subfloor. Placing the floor covering or tile into the adhesive too soon may cause movement or bubbling. Please always refer to the technical data sheet of a product to seek guidance.
Working time refers to the amount of time from when the adhesive is set until the floor covering will no longer bond. This can be affected by the temperature, humidity, and porosity of the subfloor. Placing a floor covering onto the adhesive after the stated working time may result in failed bonding. Please always refer to the technical data sheet.
