Newspaper headlines and a surge in construction company share values emphasise the resurgence in the building industry, though all sectors are struggling to find enough skilled labour to carry out the work to meet site deadlines: which is part of the reason that the combination of ES600 Moisture Vapour Suppressant and SX500 Rapid Drying Smoothing Compound is proving so popular.
The two well proven and environmentally-friendly products are finding applications in a variety of fields from shop-fitting to social housing renewals, where contractors often have to complete work overnight or for hand-back to the tenant by teatime, complete with new floorcoverings.
Critically, SX500 dries within half an hour and is moisture tolerant, while offering low odour and is protein free. It contains 40% recycled content and is supplied in 22 kg sacks to be mixed with the 4.4 kg of the Part B liquid, and has an application thickness of 2mm – 15mm. SX500 is suitable for tricky substrates and is an ideal preparation for the laying of textiles, carpets, timber flooring and ceramic tiles.
Prior to this stage, though, many existing sub-floors require sealing to control residual moisture. This is a situation where ES600 has been setting new standards for sustainability as well as user friendliness.
It is water based with very low VOC content, while it is both BREEAM and EC1 compliant. And importantly it can be laid where moisture readings reflect an RH of up to 95%.
When using ES600 and SX500 priming may not be necessary, this assists with time saving. So whatever the deadline or the type of property being considered, contractors and consultants should consider specifying ES600 and SX500 to speed up a successful outcome.
